Where was Calypso's Island?

Where is Calypso's island, with its white geographical features? Is it a true island, or just Hollywood hyperbole and/or special effects? Thank you.

Calypso's Island is supposed to be Gozo which is an Island part of the Maltese Islands. Ive been there before they have also the cave you can visit which is supposed to be "Calypsos Cave". Gozo is just an island like any other, the film just made it all icy.

this is Pamukkale in Turkey. Those pools are natural formations of limestone, formed by the flowing water. It is located in Turkey's Inner Aegean region. However the sea in the background was probably blue screen.

I've been to that part of Turkey - it looks magical, however it is filled with tourists that spoil the pleasure. But it is really like that - all white with light blue water, located on a cliff rather than in the middle of an ocean.
