Intensity Movie/Book/High Tension Question?

I just got through reading the book Intensity, I loved it. I wanted to see the movie. Unfortunatly no video store near me has a copy. I was just wondering, does the movie follow the book? High Tension is supposed to be a remake of this movie, does High Tension follow the book?

I have also read the book and have just seen the TV movie last night. I must admit the book was much more enjoyable and McGinley did not portray the charcter of Edgler too well. It follows the book exactly plot wise but not as stylistically as I had envisioned it while reading (but hey - it's a TV movie).

Actually...I've seen the original High Tension movie (It's french) and although some aspect of it are the same I'm definatly sure that it's not a remake...It's a totally different story end...

right right, the last 15 minutes of high tension was different from intensity...

Sorry, but I disagree TOTALLY with you.
"Haute Tension" is purely and simply a plagiarism, everybody in France is aware of it.
The book was available in its French translation months before the film's production, and as soon I saw the film, I could tell, sequence after sequence, what would happen. Except for the ending. But the ending, it's only a little part of the film.
Since, the TV-movie has been shown several times on French TV. In fact, it will be broadcast tonight once again, on a channel named Teva.
Even the French title, "Haute Tension", is an almost exact translation of the US title, "Intensity". The difference is that "Haute Tension" can have a double sense in French: it can be translated as "Blood Pressure", but also as an electrical tension. Don't tell me it's still a "coincidence" !!!
Not only the general plot, but the order of events, and even the slightiest details of the films, ARE in the novel.

High Tension is not so much a remake but a retelling of the source material.

The film makers take the first half of the book and make it the entire story, with a lame twist ending. The character of Vess is gutted to a Jason/Leatherface rip off.

Still worth seeing, just for the blood though.

In the Movie Connections section for High Tension on iMDB, it is listed as the remake of "Intensity", but it is never acknowledged, so I also believe the idea was ripped off.

"Save me."
"I love you."

It's not a remake but a rip off and if you really liked the book, you wouldn't watch a movie that disrespected it.
