Unlikeable character

That Lynne character is utterly unlikeable. Whether it was her mean ways with Monica Jones, her mouthing off to her superiors or her co-workers, it was pretty much impossible to have any liking or empathy towards her. Wonder how she ever kept her position! Awful, mean-spirited person.

Yeah, she made you want to "shove a rat in her mouth and sew her lips shut" (to quote Carla from "Cheers").

reply

Haha, that's one way to put it!

I always felt sorry for her. It's no excuse as to her behavior, but she was sad to watch.

Why do we warn of spoilers, isn't that the chance you take going to a site like imdb?

reply

She seemed a bit lonely. Maybe she was suffering from a wounded heart.

It would have been great to see the relationship develop with her bf (Monica';s brother). His return at the end with Esme showed some promise for the two of them getting together. It would have been interesting to see that.

"Fred" returned with Esme at the end? What?!

He was afraid to come back (you know why). If he did, please explain which scene as I completely missed it somehow.

Thanks.

first, just after the staff is informed the hotel is being torn down, we see them packing their belongings to leave. We briefly see Lynn placing Fred's photo in her valise before she closes the cover. I think the director did that to remind us what Fred looked like, so we would recognize him at the end.

When the staff gathers in the hotel lobby, after hearing they've got their jobs back, Esme walks in, escorted by two young gentlemen. The one on the right is Fred. He and Lynn exchange warm smiles, and I could tell they still liked each other. Then Esme accepts the keys to the hotel, and says, "Let's get to work." The End.

She was just terrible. I understand there are people out there like her in the world but that doesn't mean I have to like watching them or be around them. I just wanted to slap her whenever she was on screen. I like that she kind of stood up for Monica at the end but it doesn't make up for her being horrible to her the whole time.
