Why oh why is Mr Knightley so darn ugly? I like Northam much better, even tough he's not really a hottie. Okay, if he was only plain, but he is really ugly. Disguisting! Why does pretty little Emma want him?
One other thing. Emma's supposed to be a blonde. Baaaad filmmakers!
I Strongly (pun intended) disagree. IMO, Mark Strong's Mr. Knightley is not only handsome (the boy FINE), he really illustrates the Knightley's strength of mind and character. I thought Jeremey Northam did a good job, but his demeanor is not quite as forceful; (again, IMO) Mark Strong played the part closer to the way he's written in the book.

I love Mark Strong, and I love Jeremy Northam. But I did NOT like Strong's Knightley, and I'm afraid his hair might have had a lot to do with it. I would never say he was ugly (because he wasn't -- he has a very striking, handsome face), but his hair was TRAGIC. If only his Knightley had been bald. Mark Strong can rock a bald head like no one else.
