Missing People, Pets + Things

My wife and I just finished watching the series and our discussions turned into everything that disappeared and never mentioned again:

1) Jane
2) Pet Dogs Stinky & Nunzio
3) Larry & Abby's baby (this kid seemed to come and go... certainly wasn't around on the finale when they all go up to the cabin)

our personal favourite:

4) The 2nd bedroom... you know when they bought the new apartment with a room for a nursery... yet any overnight guest from Lyle Lovett to Larry were all forced to sleep on the couch.

I'm not being picky, just thought it was funny.

I don't know about the rest, but the nursery got turned into Greg's office. So it's not a surprise Lyle and KD sleep on the couch :P

Jane wasn't needed so that's why she disappeared at the beginning of season 5. They still had the dogs and Henery. They were being watched by other people. It's not important to know by who. I was thinking it was like that mainly when they were at the cabin. Yes the second bedroom was turned into Greg's office.

Why would a room that was no longer a nursery automatically become a guest room in your mind?
