Location?

I saw this movie when it came out in '98 and watched it for the second time tonight. This time though I saw something in the movie that made me wonder it's filming location. Does anyone know where it was filmed? I looked up Daleman College but got no results (aside from mentions of this movie).

Towards the end of the movie, in the scene where Cooper and Josh realize that Pickle has tried to kill himself, there is a bumper sticker on the wall in the background that reads "WOKQ 97.5". This is a local radio station here in New Hampshire, so I don't know if the movie was filmed locally or it was just a random prop they somehow stumbled upon.

Anyways, if anyone knows where the movie was filmed I'd be interested to know. Thanks.

Cooper talked about stopping in Boston tot get high, it could be in NH or Southern Maine. WOKQ is Dover, NH which boarders Durham, NH where UNH is

Ahh, that's right, he did mention Boston. Thanks =)

Living that part of the country I know that UNH is the only college in the area of Dover. Just over the border in Massachusetts there in Salem State College, Gordon College. Dartmouth College is up North as is Plymouth State which are both out of WOKQ's broadcast range. There are a few schools in Maine that fall with in range

Actually it was filmed in Stockton California, using the University of the Pacific as the fictional Daleman College. I believe the film was supposed to take place in the Boston area though.

Yup, it was filmed at my alma mater, University of the Pacific in Stockton! I went there from 1999-2002 (transfer student), so about a year after the film was released... their dorm exterior shots were actually the English & admin building, and as an English major myself, I spent most of my time in there. It was the oldest building on campus, and had no air conditioning, which was torturous in those hot Stockton summers/autumns. Beautiful buildings, though, which had that east coast feel they were trying to portray.

Fun fact: Many of the exterior shots from Dead Poet's Society and School Ties were also filmed at UOP. :-)
