My Favourite performance in any film or tv production...

...is Miranda Richardson as Pamela Flitton.
It is the most flawless portrayal of a character i have ever seen.
Every movement, every word, intination, look is perfect.

If i ever get depressed about the state of acting, i watch this performance and my faith is restored.
Please everyone, watch this!!

Yeah, except she was supposed to be Stringham's niece, and she looked way too old for that even in her early scenes...and then, in the last part of the movie, everyone else has aged significantly, and she still looks the same. Looks like the producers wanted to keep her the best-looking woman in the film though I thought Mona looked pretty good at the end.

My husband said "Flitton's such a tart she probably dyes her hair" and he is probably correct!

Mirand Richardson was certainly one of the best things in the miniseries, but even she overacted at some points....

Interesting. For me, Richardson was very weak and overacted all the way through. The same portrayal would have worked brilliantly on stage, but on screen it was just too much for me.

Richardson's face just looked so hard - what drew all those men to her? I didn't feel in the least sorry for Pamela. There was nothing to draw me to her as a character.

Beale, at the end, looked like someone's crazy idea of Charles Laughton as Quasimodo.
