Reminded me of...?

The plot of the series, following a group of characters from their school years through to their seniors years with the backdrop of the 1930s, World War II, and post-war eras, reminded me of the series Love in a Cold Climate (1980). (Coincidentally, Michael Williams was in that, too.)

This series also brought to mind the last two novels by Virginia Woolf (that were published before her death): The Waves, and The Years.
