I know it's been said before...

... but the show was a true classic and should NOT have been cancelled after only a pathetic eight episodes.

The show should have gone on for a further TEN series and continued to this day instead of the repetitive drivel we have now i.e 'Danceing on Ice' or whatever z list clebrity tosh we have on television now.

I really do believe that, had the show gone on, it would have ascended up there into televisual heaven along with the other great established sci-fi shows such as 'Docotr Who', 'Star Trek' etc...

Although the concept of haveing a murder mystery show wasn't by any means new or original, the introduction of a time machine was. I thought it was a stroke of genius on Anthony Horowitz's part. It certainly added a whole new dynamic to murder mystery! simply pop back in timne a few hours and witness it for yourslef (they should have charged admission to the public. Only Joking!).

I also loved the character interaction between Holly Turner and Jeff SLAAAADE (as Kate Grisham would call him). I loved the fact that they were extreme opposites in that Slade was the brash and head strong cop and Holly being the timid and intelligent scientist.

All of these qualities made for exciting character driven tv.

They also struck gold in casting the wonderful Sue Johnston in the role of Jeff and Holly's superior, Kate Grisham. The way she could switch personalities at the flip of a coin, from calm, cool professional to irratable, shouty, mother type figure had me in stitches alsmost every episode.

Ahh, the memories! DAMN the BBC for not renewing the show for another series. Still, at least we can watch the episodes in all their glory on DVD!!

Peace!
