Yes, it very much was.

I suppose, but compared to Supernatural it doesn't seem remotely melodramatic.

I'm re watching the show and just finished S2 and boy, you aint kidding.

Season 2 towards the end was enough to break your heart. It was definitely the closest supernatural show to be a borderline soap opera.

Yes, but that made it entertaining. Although Buffy and Angel were a little cringeworthy sometimes.
