The Body

I've been watching this show for the first time. Stayed away originally because of he title and just assumed it would be stupid and childish.

In watching I was wondering if it was going the way I originally thought as it would get silly. Then they come out with an episode The Body in season 5. I won't go into the story in case there are those who haven't seen it.

Brilliantly done and the music was not used to even drive it home that much more.

Hope it won an emmy for this. I'm just blown away.

Just heard Netflix is removing this show in April. Damn it!

Yes it was artistic. It was sad as Joyce was a beloved character, the world kept moving on and explored how all the characters dealt with death. I think Joss whedon took inspiration from his mother's death and it feels like it was unfolding before our eyes. I'm not sure if it won an award, but the critics loved it.

Yeah that episode is unbelievable. Especially the first sequence really made an impression, it felt so shockingly real.

That sucks, but really this show's worth owning. I recently rewatched it with my sister and her boyfriend who hadn't seen it until then, and it was a great experience, we had a lot of fun.

Recently saw "This Time With Feeling" and really enjoyed that too. It was the musical episode.
Some parts seem to channel Ann Margaret.

"Once More With Feeling"

What I loved about 'Once More With Feeling' is that the singing wasn't just a gimmick, it was integral in moving the story forward by forcing the characters to reveal their feelings. At the end nothing was the same anymore. Well and it was just fun to watch. :-D

The Body and OMWF are both exceptional episodes, not only in the context of this show, but of television in general imo.

The songs were amazing and not flat toned. The jokes really worked and the sets felt like a block buster musical.

It's still on Hulu.

I finished the series before it left. Quite a show. Found others ways to watch Angel. Spike comes back in the 5th season. He brought life to it.

That episode devastated me! I hadn't cried that much since Mark died on ER (well, I cried more). And it was just as devastating the second time around. Brilliant episode.

That episode makes me cry every single time

one of the most heart breaking TV episodes i have ever seen hands down.

As someone who went through the same thing when I was not all that much older than Buffy was, this episode resonated with me so deeply that I was basically crying on and off through the entire thing.

And everything was SO right! The writing, direction and performances perfectly captured all the things you really do go through, I went through. It was the most accurate portrayal of shock, denial, numbness, brain fog, grief, loss, etc that I think I've ever seen in film or TV. Whedon got it spot-on. It was devastating.
