Your favorite "secondary" character - Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997) Discussion

I always wished Amy got more shine. She was never a Scooby but seemed to still be friends with the group back in high school.

I could easily see the group coming to her whenever Buffy comes across a demon that couldn't be slain by conventional means. When a demon requires a specific vanquishing spell or potion, they "contract" out to Amy to provide. Sure, Giles had experience with the occult and Willow EVENTUALLY becomes a witch herself but none of them could touch what Amy could do as early as Season 2.

Meanwhile, we'd also get to see her just casually hanging with the group in and out of high school. Not as a regular, obviously. She had her own group of friends. But more as that one friend you enjoy seeing but don't go out of your way to see every day.

Side-Note: Imagine if Amy WASN'T a rat in the Season 3 finale?? I imagine she'd be very useful in the fight against the Mayor and his army.....hmm, I wonder if Amy would even use her magicks in front of ordinary people....See?? So many questions for and from a secondary character!!



I'm not a huge Amy fan, but I'd love to have seen her worked into the S3 finale!

I kind of liked Larry. I adored Jonathan, but I do not know if he counts as a "secondary" character....

Got to be Harmony for me as well! Hated her when I was younger as she slowed the narrative down to a halt and detracted from the action but now I appreciate these breathers even more than the main storylines.

Deputy Mayor Finch....he should have lived. Buffy could have gotten a better job to support herself, like in the PD. Replace Giles with him as the 'good authority figure' who had a past--because he was younger and Buffy did not actually need a watcher.

Snyder.....he of all people comes on as the brooder/takes over as the emotionally messed up mortal guy now that Xander is a successful construction worker.

Of course. Ethan Rayne! I know The Initiative locked him in some dank prison, but it was a huge mistake to not have one last Ethan hurrah amidst the chaos of season seven. He would have fit in perfectly.

Joyce? absolutely!

Amy is much like Darla imo. solid tv actresses but they dont have that wow factor that SMG has. im glad they didnt cast either Madison or Benz as buffy!

I actually watched that episode last night. I had forgotten that it's in slow motion, which is just whimsically perfect.

Harmony is a good choice, but it's hard to pick just one! How do you choose between Joyce, Jonathan, Drucilla, or Lorne? Or, even Caleb, who had some humor?

Dru by far. I really wish we had gotten to see more of her and they had brought her back as the main villain of one of the later seasons or gave her a soul.

Larry would have been cute addition...once he came out he wasn't a mean person anymore. he felt better about himself. Would have been adorable boyfriend for Xander.

Second choice/tie would be Deputy Mayor Finch....who had issues having been "The Mayor's" right hand person. But he really wanted to be a white hat. He would have been the perfect mortal boyfriend for post high school Buffy.
