Snyder and Joyce
Anyone think Joyce should have punished Buffy and Dawn with scourging?
What about Buffy beating Dawn with the whip?
I also think Snyder should have scourged Buffy, Willow and Cordelia bloody.

shareI would have had Snyder and Deputy Mayor Finch come back as allies. After Angel and Giles leave, they are the characters with the pasts who now help fight evil.
*Synder is the Giles who has the 'past' beneath innocence and being goofy. He was trying to act like a 'hood' during band candy. Coming to terms with his actual past finally makes him a decent person after all. he has to atone for having worked with the Mayor and how he treated Buffy.
* Deputy Mayor Finch--who incidentally would become Mayor Finch after Richard Wilkins dies already knows about the slayer----and what is really inside sunnydale.
Finch is not scared or intimidated by her he is turned on by the slayer. He knows who she is and what she needs to be. He's reasonably cute He therefore becomes Bufffy''s new lover. Buffy moves in with him in his really nice apartment-condo. and therefore does not worry re money/bills. She gets job as head of Sunnydale PD's special investigations division because of his extensive municipal connections. She now has access to weapons and City records. He's the 'brooder' who has to come to grips with his past and what he's helped Wilkins do @ City Hall. But he is human so he can go out in sunlight.
