worst revamped character.

Scarface is the worst. He an d arnie wesker look soooooooooo stupid here. How about you guys?

reply

Actually, I'd say Catwoman fared the worst. With her revamped design, she became an albino every time she suited up.

reply

I also didn't like Catwoman's appearance when she had the costume off. I preferred her blonde long-hair appearance over her short black hair look. Scarecrow, on the other hand, had the best redesign.

reply

I also didn't care for Selina's new out-of-costume appearance, but it didn't bother me nearly as much as her new in-costume look.

I agree that the Scarecrow had the best redesign. I'd say that the next best was Batman himself. I've always preferred the large bat symbol on his chest to the small bat with a yellow oval around it.

Yes, Two-Face is in this series. His appearance changed very little from B:TAS, and he is still voiced by Richard Moll. Two-Face appears in the episodes "Sins of the Father" and "Judgment Day".

I didn't like the new Joker design either. I'm glad they fixed it for "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" and "Justice League"

I agree that revamping the look of the Joker was a mistake. Thankfully he is still being voiced by Mark Hamill. On the otherhand, the Penguin is physically more in keeping with his early comics counterpart. I never did like the mutant aspect; either in "Batman Returns" or BTAS. And although I had no problem with Paul Williams voicing "Pengie", I feel that Davis Ogden Stiers adds some much needed culture and penache to the characterization.

Her look in TAS was terrible. This was better.

They will bend the knee or I will destroy them.

The worst was probably Mad Hatter or Catwoman. Both of them suddenly became pale, and Mad Hatter shrunk in size.

The best redesigned characters were Scarecrow and Croc. It didn't make sense that Croc's skin turned from white to green, but whatever. I think there were two Crocs in the comics anyway.

BTW, this show, and all of Bruce Timm's stuff, is awesome.

Hi, I'm new. I've used IMDB for a long time, but I just now decided to sign up.

My least favorite was the Riddler redesign. Going from the dark green smart suit and bowler of the original to the pale spandex looking suit was a mistake, I think.

I kinda liked the Joker's redesign, but I did prefer the look he got in Return of the Joker. It seemed to combine the best of both designs.

Scarecrow was definitely the best - very very creepy. Bane was good too.

Oh, come on! Bruce wayne is the WORST Revamped charector. He's got blue-eyes, his hair is all... not how it used to be, and his chin is MASSIVE!!!!
The old Bruce wayne was way better... Now there's a haircut you can set your watch to...

My Mind Is Not A Very Pleasent Place To Be.

To be honest I prefer the designs of the original animated series, however, I must say that I prefer Scarecrow in this series, he's so scary !!

Batman almost looks better than before, it's the costume. Scarface looks stupid. Gordon looks weaker somehow. The Riddler looks as bad as Jim Carrey's costume. But the character who takes the worst of it is Two-Face for me. I think he just looks less menacing. But Scarecrow's revamp I think is better than the version in the comics.

Everyone, get the 1978 Superman onto the top 250! Start voting!

Whoa.Wait a minute...you think Bane looks stupid? He looks F---ing awesome!

Lol the bondage gear.I know what I mean but the thing is he looks much more intimidating don't you think? I mean before he was a seriosu but people thought he was a wacko.

reply

Bane looks awesome, the same goes for Scarecrow and Clayface. Everybody seems to be complaining about characters with pale skin, but nobody's mentioned Poison Ivy. Anyway, I think she's still good lookin'. The worst revamped character would have to be The Penguin, which is probably why he wasn't a villain this time around, I would never have guessed it was him if the other caharacters didn't call him Penguin.

reply

To be honest,I think he looks better here than he did before as he is more of a noble businessman type.Besides when he was officially in the Mafia he lost alot of weight and all that.

reply

i prefer the cleaner sharper design of the characters in this than that of btas, but i guess im the only one

I don't, not really. They went "too" stylistic and it was silly looking in most cases. The huge chests, the tiny feet. It was silly looking. The plots took a downward turn also, moving away from good stories into shallow villain showcases. Why fix what wasn't broken?

OK, so what's the speed of dark?

reply

The weird thing is, all the writers and producers on the episode commentary (including Bruce Timm) seem to prefer the new designs. I can't imagine why. Maybe they notice some flaws in the old designs that only animators would notice. The only new design I really liked was Scarecrow. Timm admitted their Joker didn't work without red lips though.
