The Space Commander

In my opinion, this movie shows us far too little of the Space Commander. His was a compelling character, and could have done with further development. He did, however, look a bit surprised when his space lasers didn't work.

I feel that the Space Commander should have made a play for control over the US, while Mr President was distracted by the asteroid(s).
