Another asteroid movie

I have been trying to find the name of a CBS movie about Earth being threatened by something from the sky. I can't remember who the star was other than I'm pretty sure she had dark hair(yeah, I know-big help) I'm very sure it came out 5 or more years before Asteroid and it was on CBS on either Sunday or Saturday.
If I remember the ending right, they had thought they got the object that was heading for Earth but then found that there was something right behind it.
Does anyone remember this? I just have a memory of them by the telescope very happy that the threat was destroyed and then seeing a new blip heading for them.

Did it end with the earth being destroyed?
The news report just goes to static and then the credits roll?

If so, I remember this film too, but it's bizarre because no one else does and no one can remember it's name if they do....

And the song "Weird" by Hanson played over the credits.

I hope it's the same thing, I'm starting to think my brain made this film up :)

I know this post is older .... but I thought one of you might still like an answer.

I think the movie you may be thinking about it titled WITHOUT WARNING. It aired in 1994.
