Should have had en extended ending

They should have extended the ending showing Dallas being rebuilt and the main characters giving a speech at some big memorial garden where the big meteor struck. Aftershock Earthquake in New York did this and it worked out great. Having shots of the Reunion Tower under reconstruction, the old doctor cutting the tape for the new hospital, and even several of the skyscrapers being restored to their original design would have been a better ending.
