For some reason this one is my favourite version, well next to the 1954 version...anyone else???
I haven't seen it yet but I plan to.
Would a child like this movie? I have a nephew who likes action movies. Would he like this?
The 1954 version is far and away my favorite live-action version of "20,000 Leagues." "The Mysterious Island" was also quite good--a very worthy sequel.
However, this movie, though it took a great deal of liberty with adapting the novel, was ultimately impressive and interesting as well. They developed some good themes throughout it and the notion of giving Nemo a daughter living aboard the Nautilus was rather unique.
1954. I think Verne would have liked this Michael Caine version best, but he was a gloomy sort.
