Well I thought it was alright...

the current comment on this movie at the present time is someone who thinks this films was 'absolute garbage'. ok... so I was a bit like 'Wha- ???' when the weasels started dancing in the forest but the characters were well played (weren't they?). I thought Eric Idle was brilliant as Ratty!

I agree. I thought the movie was quite brilliant actually!

I love this movie! I saw it in theatres here in the US and then I couldn't find it anywhere for the next five years. Finally I looked online and saw that the name had been changed and immediately went out and rented it.

it was directed by comedy great Terry Jones. come on! starring 4 of the pythons (Michael Palin's voice of "the sun"). this movie was released when i was in grade 4 going on to grade 5. i'm not near 20 and can still have a copy of it on VHS, it's a great fun film to get out and watch.....so much silly witted Python humor is weaved into it. it's a great film. steve coogan is rather funny also....i know it's a child's film but should i ever have them i will be sure that they dont grow up with Wind in the Willow as a part of their childhoods. both Terry Jones' adaption and the classic version.

GREAT FILM!

"Absolute garbage"?! Excuse me what? No way. This film is brilliant. And weazels dancing in the forest was like the best scene in the movie. :D

I didn't quite like the weazels' little dance.. It could've been better..The hands were a bit too much..but I just loved the other bits on the movie! Eric and mike and Jonesy were so cute! Just messing about on the river... You Ratty you!

I agree, the only part that shouldn't have been there was the Weasels dance, though the song isn't bad, but the surreal dancing doesn't really work with the rest of the songs and dances in the film. I've gotta admit though, I went into this film determined to like it anyway. I'm a huge Monty Python fan and on top of that I loved the ride in Disney World and the Wind In The Willows as a book.

If I had my way, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride would still be open at Disney World and Winnie the Pooh would be gone. I won't bother to trek out to Disneyland to see their Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, but I respect that it's still open.

i agree with that about the weazels part, some of the special effects and stuff looked rather so and so, i think i thought.

a long way from home,
i have moved on,
people here don't speak my languege,
but my previous way of living has vanished,
and i take what i need,
far from my old home street,
sometimes when i'm with them,
i wonder how it could turn out this way,
and i feel kind of alone,
a long way from home.
though i'm here close,
there is a subconscious distance in my soul,
today here is where i make my stay,
sometimes i turn my mind away,
to how it was before,
a long way from home.

I love this film- I wished I had heard of it when it was released. I would've loved it a lot more when I was younger ... not that I don't like it now- I'm in love with it. It's a bit cheesy, but it's lovable and memorable and funny. ^^

Eric Idle was born to play Ratty! (JK) and I thought that was hilarious how John Cleese and Michael Palin made cameos.
