DVD Version
Is the DVD the entire unedited TV series; or has it been edited down to a 90 minute long movie?

shareit has been edited down. I haven't seen the miniseries, and apparently the director wasn't involved with the cutting, but I was satisfied with what I saw. I couldn't imagine it being any longer than what it was.
I'm as jumpy as a virgin at a prison rodeo!share
It was about three hours long, and there was an excellent sub-plot involving Alice's parents. Which was very good as we saw an embellishment on her relationship with her father. It was really good and I am really sad they cut it out.

I've read that the full version also fleshes out Michael Kitchen's character. I wish I had seen that version. I had read the book and was hoping for something close to that story.

I didn't realise that the DVD was heavily edited, I'm glad I taped it when it was first broadcast
I'm only going to say this once: stay out of Camberwick Green - Sam Tyler
The original TV version was approx 2 hours 30 minutes. It was shown in three 1 hour long slots, but after commercials each programme was about 50 minutes.
I still have my home recording of it on VHS. Which I will be watching again soon. If I remember rightly I edited it together to make it one feature length 2 hour 30 min episode, rather than three indiviudal episodes.
Please could I get a DVD transfer of your vhs copy. I would pay a serious chunk of change for that. I wasn't allowed to watch it when it first came on. I had to sneak little clips when my parents couldn't hear the TV. But the subplot with the parents is amazingly well done. I miss it.
