Olivia D'Abo

Hi. I´ve just seen this movie for the second time and I enjoyed it even more than the first. As I was watching the credits I saw the name of Olivia in the thanks (she plays the princess in Conan the Destroyer) and I was wondering maybe she is a fan of R.E Howard ? I heard her commentary track in the Conan movie and she sounded quite enthusiastic (despite the failure that the movie is, but that´s another story) Could you shed some light about this , Mr. Ireland? (by the way, it´s great to have you in the board and I wish you could direct the oncoming Conan movie).

While I'm not the director I can tell you that Olivia D'abo was originally cast in the movie to play Novelyn and worked with the director for a year and a half before having to drop out due to getting pregnant and was replaced by Renee. This is explained during the director commentary on the dvd and in the Renee Zellwegger interview.

I personally have nothing against Olivia, in fact I think she's quite beautiful, but I'm personnaly glad Renee is in the movie instead because she's just perfect in that role and as we've seen has gone on to win an Oscar and become a great actress.

Mistery solved... Thanks a lot! And I agree with you about Renee.

Yes Olivia was originally cast for Novalyn, she did later appear in Dan Irelands "The Velocity of Gary" with Vincent again as his his character Valentino's former co star Veronica.

Eames to Goren: For once I was hoping you were wrong.
