Give us a special edition DVD please!

This movie is one of my all time fave movies, and highly underappreciated I think.
I wish they would release a DVD with deleted scenes (maybe a longer version of th emovie if the scenes were filmed), commentary (maybe wiht some original real life crew members), features etc
Ridley Scott is a A list guy in Hollywood so surely they could sell a special edition well, maybe for the 10th anniversarry next year.

I would like it too (as well as better picture and sound quality!!) but I don't think that's going to happen, because if I'm not mistaken, the film wasn't that huge of a succes.

What did you like about his pathetic movie. I really don't understand you - could you please explain what fascinates you ????????

"the film wasn't that huge of a succes."

My DVD copy had no extras - not even a scene selection option. Yes, some commentary would have been nice, but the film was a major money loser. I bet they released it as cheaply as possible, still hoping to recoup some costs of the film. However, it seems to have been largely forgotten.

The trailers and featurettes all contain scenes that are not in the movie. This movie would certainly be better off with a director's cut.

Sometimes it's hard to see why some people close themselves off from the lessons and emotion that carries this movie, but to each their own. I think for most it's just the concept that gives them pre-conceived prejudice that stops them from opening up and enjoying the movie.

I mean, if you just told me what it was about, I wouldn't think much of it, but each time I see it, I'm more amazed at how well it was made.

+1

As much as I love Ridley, White Squall is his only movie that has me crying every bloody time I see it.

I know this question's old, but there's a Blu-ray out now, which should give the movie its due.

The (hard to get) UK DVD is appalling. The transfer is terrible, and it's pan and scan.
