It deserved SOME comment..

Maybe some dialogue about this film would help..

I'd warn of possible spoilers, but it would be relatively impossible to spoil a movie without any "real" facts to give away. In fact, before people watch the movie, maybe this comment would be helpful to prevent going away in confusion and woe. =)

.. Either I missed something or a drastic epiphany at the end of the film, or there really was no ending or explanation.

As each scene plays out, we start to get a feel for what is real and what is an induced dream.. but then what?

Do we ever find out who is what, and what is who? If you sat through the movie, somehow that question made sense. =)

The doctor - real, I assume.. and obviously - I assume? - a 'bad guy' involved in this poor man's twisted spiral into insanity..

But how bad was he? How involved was he?

Were there other patients - other than the one "group room" scene with the warning towards the beginning..

..is that to imply that all of the patients were going through this torturous cycle, or just him?

The nurse - in a moment of lucidity, he asks for help - but the revelation is she's only playing a nurse, a role paid for by the needle tracks on her arm... so this then becomes a hospital without a real nurse?

I REALLY gave this movie a chance. I even Tivo'd it so I could give it a closer-than-real-time viewing.. but I have the exact same issues after the closer look..

If you like movies that have an ending - ANY ending - ANY resolution at all - then this isn't for you.

At this point, in taking another comment into consideration, in hearing that it was a tv movie, I now regret there is no flashy DVD to watch to hear the director's take on what is really going on. I can only assume without one, maybe he didn't even know.

Disconnected (meant to be, I'll give it that).. Confusing (also meant to be, I'll give it that, too).. but coherently spiraling into the twisted horror it was meant to be? Not at all...

..unless you consider the two hours I spent confused and desperately trying to put some value to the movie!

I'll open the dialogue. One of you liked the movie. I saw the potential for goodness, but a total failure in showing the viewer what they needed to see to make it the dense spiraling thriller they intended it to be. Others just totally dismissed it as trash.

The spectrum of opinions. I'd say that's what makes a movie a classic - but, it's sadly not the case with this one.

Stephanie.
