Ever wonder if Crispin Glover was MAD?

I just saw "What Is It?" in NYC and, yes, he is perhaps mad, but he's not crazy. He did a long Q&A in front of a sold out theater and handled himself brilliantly. Very articulate, thoughtful and kind. I hate to blow his cover, but appearances like the now infamous Letterman episode must be stunts.

His slide show was just as wonderful as the film. The slide show was a condensed version of 8 of his books (I think only about 4 are in print but I'm not sure.)

I also saw the NYC show this weekend. I am still processing the film, but I loved the slide-show and the q&a session. The q&a definately helped me understand the film a little better, or at least, the reasoning behind some of the decisions he made regarding the film.

I'd actually seen him do a condensed version of the slide show AGES ago and it was much tighter. I wish he had approached this one with an eye towards performance more. I felt like he winged it.

I'm still processing the film, too. However, what was immediately apparent was how well he crafted the world of the film. Truly a major accomplishment.

Didn't you want him to explain his thoughts on laughter? He said he couldn't because people got too angry at him. Now I'll wonder forever. Damn him

What theater in New York did you see it at. We would want to do it at a theater in Atlanta and are interested in perhaps contacting the theater to see what they did for it. Thanks.
