worth 25 bucks?

It's playing in Jersey this weekend and their showing the film with q and a, and an autograph for 25 bucks? Is it worth 25 bucks to see this film?

ok then

It's not even worth 25 cents. It was the most painful 4 hours of my life.

I saw it this weekend at the Monster Mania Horror Fest. Let me ask you this - if it is worth it for hundreds of people to line up and pay 30 bucks just for an autograph from the Villain from "Saw" - or pay 20 bucks to pose with the
Saw puppet - then - - is it worth spending 25 bucks for the opportunity to have the opportunity to see a film and slide show of material you probably wont have the opportunity to see again?

I am not sorry I saw it.

Just the film? No.
But if the admission includes the slide-show book reading, and the Q and A in which Crispen really gives a lot of himself in giving the background of not just the What is It?, but the movie industry in general... very much so.

My husband and I were wondering if it was worth $20 in Rochester at the Dryden Theatre (part of George Eastman House). The slide show and q/a were certainly worth it. It made you realize that despite the DISTURBING nature of both pieces, there is a point. That, of course, begs the question--should you need an explanation to understand it. In our case, we had huge reservations because of the use of actors with Down Syndrome (our 15 year old has DS). In the end, Glover's defense of his piece was eloquent enough to win us over.

You will not see this kind of event anywhere else in the world. Go for it!

HAHA! unrelated topic.Did you see the line of people paying 30 bucks to meet the SAW guy? ridiculous!

reply

25 dollars?
I only paid 7 to see INLAND EMPIRE, and I got to meet and engage in a Q&A with David Lynch, and Laura Dern. If I want to pay 25 dollars to laugh at a bunch of retards, I'll buy the Palindromes dvd.

It is a fearful thing to love what death can touch.

Save your money and go to one of your local colleges and watch one of their many "artsy/fartsy" films/performance art acts for free.

It's the same experience.

reply

No, no it's not. Crispin's dramatic readings from his books is worth the price of admission alone. Not only because the books are hilarious, but also Crispin is an amazing performer. I can understand why his films are divisive. At the same time equating them to the work created at local colleges is absurd.

I just saw this, uh "thing", tonight in Nashville at the Belcourt.

Not really is it worth $25 (we paid $20). The slide show and film make zero sense. The best part is the pinhead, oh I'm so artsy and cool, look at my tattoos to show how rad I am crowd acting like they really understand it. If you can present yourself in a certain manner, you can get those types to fall for anything.

But, the Q & A is mildly interesting. Glover is deluded, but it's interesting nonetheless. He's constantly talking about "corporate, produced" films...of course, he sure doesn't mind taking their money I'm sure.

All Glover's show is supposedly to get you to think. I think it's just to be provocative, but it's so meaningless it fails even there.

I'm serious, anyone in the world could have written this film with the same actors, put Glover's name on it and have him promote it, and I guarantee the artsy crowd would lap it up.

C'mon, people, I like weird and provocative, but this is just pretentiousness, nothing more.
