Ya, but that doesn't mean anything...... you can "SAVE" the movie until it is ready for it's release date. I've been "SAVING" Ken Park for three years!!!! I don't expect this in my mail box anytime soon.

Ken Park is out, I don't know about netflix though. They say if you like looking at penis that it's a good movie. It's supposed to have too much male nudity.

reply

ha ken park is a good movie and yes it does have several dick scenes even shows a cumshot however you also see tits and pussy so if you have ever seen porn im sure you will manage just fine... also besides the nudity it is an interesting story if you like those kind of movies which i do.

Crispin Glover has recently indicated that he does not plan on releasing the film on DVD. Ever.

I saw the movie in a theater last night. The question was asked of Crispin why he plans not to release it on dvd. He explained that he has a lot of money invested in the movie and his only way to earn that investment back is to tour the movie and play it in theaters. If he were even able to find a company to release and distribute it, the creation of the dvd would render his ability to sell it in the theater almost nothing. He went on to re-assure us that one day it could be on dvd.

Aside from the financial aspect he spoke about, he also spoke of the near ten year labor of love to get the movie done. So I think there is a great intimacy between Crispin and What is it? and the viewing audience. By touring with the movie he is able to be sure that the movie is presented exactly as he wishes. You cant have a one hour long interactive Q&A session on any dvd.

Man I'd love to see that Q & A... i live in Albany and foudn out yesterday he was in Syracuse on Friday, ARG!!!!!!!!! anyone go to it?

I just saw the film and Q&A tonight. He doesn't intend to release this on DVD as he said that the $150,000-$200,000 investment he put into it is a large amount of money for him and he only attracts enough audience to make back the investment by touring and doing shows in person. Plus he said that the discussions about the film--why he did it, what you see in it, etc--are an important accompaniment and I'd agree: most people would be entirely lost and often offended watching it without explanation. Who knows though; once he's made back all the money maybe he'd figure out a way to get the movie and the message out on dvd or another means.

Perhaps, he could make and publish his own DVD, set up the way he wants, with a commentary done by him, and sold exclusely through his "Vulcanic Eruptions" company website.

That way, it is release the way he wants, with what he wants added as filler, and he keeps 100% of the profits.

Though, he is coming through Portland in December, I am definately going to see it with his Q&A.

I saw the movie in NYC last weekend and it seems like he meant he would maybe release it on DVD after he makes back the money he put into it. His $200,000 he put into it, would take over 2,000 screenings to make his money back and what he wants. It is a wonderful show though. He is a really nice guy and while signing stuff, had actual conversations with the people that went up instead of rushing through the line.

salantra's point makes good sense

eruptions would be a great route (and probably attract more attention to the books and cd as well)

plus; American viewers are likely to get more tour dates in more cities......in the UK and other parts of the world...we'll most likely end up with nothing....where's the labour of love? the money and desire to see the film are with many of us....but no sign of the film...it's been a while since it was made.....hope it appears on dvd before I'm too old to enjoy it (due to failing eyesight)
