I'm ALMOST ashamed to say...I was IN 'Werewolf.'

My name is Dean Moody, and I was in this wonderful slice of badness.

I appeared unbilled as Security Guard #2, the guy who, according to the MST3K bots, was "Robert Bork," trying to get caught up on my Penthouses.

Don't believe me? I could probably answer a few questions...I knew Tony Zarindast from his previous "work", films like "Hardcase and Fist," "Hollywood Story," and "Red Room," and knew what a schlockmeister he was--IMHO, the Ed Wood of the 1990s.

As a projectionist in Hollywood, I knew Tony was shooting "Arizona Werewolf," (the original title) and asked if I could play an extra, and he said "sure." I showed up with a security guard uniform at the Glendale Community College campus' old Science building (it's been redone since then) and watched Tony and George Rivera hamfist their way through the lab scene in which Tony gets drugged and infused with the Warwilf funk. They got around to shooting my "scene" around 5am.

So what, you may ask? Well, I can't tell you how proud I am to a) have been in what the IMDB once claimed to be the 12th worst film of ALL TIME, and b) to have been riffed on by the MST 'Bots. That alone was an honor that made up for the fact that I wasn't even paid to be in the film.

So there ya go. Were they serious when they made this movie? Absolutely. What's TZ doing now? I've no idea. I've since shifted careers and have lost touch. No matter, it was a weird experience that I'll never forget and that, apparently, neither will others.

Great thread. I need to talk about this on RT.

She sort of had a Van Damme accent, which leads me to believe she's from Belgium. Of course, I have nothing to back that up... just my conjecture.

...you are awesome.

Cool.

RoboCop: Dead or alive, you're coming with me.

That explains why that guard's uniform looked nothing like the one worn by Vic (the other guard). I'd always wondered. Did the director actually care that your uniform looked nothing like the other one?

reply

Director?

reply

Yes, even bad movies have directors.

reply

Good question, Koosh!

The answer: Nope! TZ didn't care at all that the uniforms didn't match. Probably didn't even occur to him. He just asked me to show up with a costume, and I did.

My greatest regret is that I have never gotten to die a horrible death in a TZ film. Oh well, we take the small moments that life has given us and appreciate them for what they are, I guess...

Nice! :D

My sister just told me she was in this movie! She's a bar patron and the actress comes up to her and talks to her. I don't think she has screen credits, though. She lived in Susanville at the time.

Congratulations, anybody can be in a bad movie, but not everyone can be in a bad movie riffed on mst3k. Hat's off for admitting it to.

There's nothing to be ashamed of. Yes, it is not a good movie. Yes, it tries to be a good movie. But Yes, I LOVE THIS MOVIE. You can't not enjoy. There is something oddly appealing about it. I've actually bought this movie twice. Someone STOLE my first copy because they liked it so much.

So, was Tony a nice guy?

There may be honor among thieves, but there's NONE in politicians!
