Characters acted like high schoolers.

I can't believe adults could act and look so childish. Neither Laura or Amelia looked like they gave a flip about their looks. Laura looked like she never combed her hair, and kept running her hands thru it. Her clothes looked like she had no idea how to dress, and she was supposed to be a professional. I would never go to a therapist who couldn't put an outfit together.

Amelia was even worse. She looked like she just got out of bed all thru the movie. I was totally turned off by her stalking the guy at the video store-- both she and Laura looked like they were about 35 and acted like they were 15.

And whine---when Amelia complained to Laura about how Laura was neglecting her, it was like listening to two teenagers. I wanted to scream "Grow-Up!!" Amelia needed to quit acting like a kid. The movie would have been saved if both women realized their lives might not continue going in the same direction, especially with Laura getting married. Instead, no lessons were learn, and no growth. They ended up just like best girlfriends in school.

Lots of vapid New Yorkers act just like this. It's the disaffected society that was eventually shaken up by 9/11.
