Why did Marie Le Blanc kill herself?

Was it because she could not live without Juliette and could not wait any longer?

Eek! Must you post a major spoiler in a thread title?!

That aside, to try to answer your question: Yes. Before Juliette, Marie had loved men all her life (to the extent that she became a mother and a grandmother) and didn't taste the love of women. But then she fell in love with Juliette - in the bathtub scene with Juliette she said that Juliette wasn't in her plans at all. For Marie, firmly middle-age, to suddenly fall in love with a woman (not to mention a much younger woman) must have proved to be shocking and delightful for her, that when she lost Juliette, it simply devastated her.

To go a bit deeper in character study, Catherine Deneuve in several interviews mentions that Marie was a fragile person - she was an intellectual, suited to the scholarly life that she simply wasn't strong enough to face real life. But Deneuve also mentions that the irony was that despite her intellectualism, Marie was utmost loving. It makes sense that someone who gave herself so much to another person would kill herself in heartbreak.

Are you saying that real life isn't like in the movies?!

Anyone looking for a site to watch the movie can enter the board and see if someone has posted a link.
Correction: Anyone who posts a major spoiler without alert on a message board is a fool.
And i agree with the other guy: learn how to spell.

Alex tells Marie at one point to get back on her podium. She seemed to crash land into life when Juliette's disappearance happened.
