Do most people like this better than the original?

I love both movies, but I think A Very Brady Sequel is actually even better than the original. I'm surprised to read comments from some who say they like the first one the best. To me, the 2nd movie is the winner hands down.

So which one do others vote for as the better of the two?

The whole situation of Roy as this conniving crooked guy having to fit in with squeaky clean Brady's is great. His constant incredulous reactions to the Brady's, the numerous slip-ups he makes, the moments when he lets his real cynical self come through (and the Bradys' usual misinterpretations of those), all those provide so many good comedic moments. The chemistry between him and the Brady's was great.

Don't get me wrong; the first movie is delightful and hilarious in its own right. I just thought the sequel, largely thanks to the situation with Roy, topped the first movie.

I agree, this was the better of the two films. As mentioned, it's because it was so over the top, and I think it helped that most of the story focused on Jan and her competitive nature against Marcia, who treated her like crap.

As you mentioned with Roy, my favorite scene with him is at the park with the kids, and they sing "Time to Change", and it's where they are eating ice cream, all poking their heads into and out of camera view one at a time, and you just see Roy disgusted with all their cuteness, and he jams his cigarette into his ice cream.

That is one of my favorite scenes as well. Very funny. At the risk of sounding like a total retro nerd, I actually kind of like the music too!

the sequel wins, hands down. so much funnier and had a better plot

EXACTLY! It never gets old..I still watch it all of the time. The sequel was way better than the first movie.

The sequel is definitely better. In the first movie, they spent a lot of time trying to set up the premise of being out of step with the rest of the world. In the sequel they were able to concentrate on the story. The gags were funnier and all the cameos and references were cool.

I have to agree - the sequel is definitely more entertaining! I like the original movie, but I think the sequel is MUCH funnier (& the tie-ins with other Sherman Schwartz T.V. shows were brilliant!!!)

I also agree. Roy's storyline is very entertaining and Alice's first reaction to seeing him is hilarious. Jan meeting George Glass was a good wrap up to that story. Since Greg and Marsha and the actors playing them aren't blood relatives, I enjoy their storyline, as well.

Yes! Just like Addams Family Values, A Very Brady is a superior sequel to the original films in their respective franchises. Love both! And consider both two of the best comedies of all time!

Definitely better than the first one which was also funny.
