Actually, they did hook up, but Warren died when he was away on assignment.

It's a happy ending because Michelle Pfeiffer becomes Katie Couric, even though she loses the guy in the end.

possibly one of the more depressing endings of a movie of all time. sure, she became famous but the love of her life died. i cry everytime.

they did! but warren dies and it is sooooo sad. when it happens it is just heartbreaking the more you watch it the more you cry i found that out the, what, 9th time i watched it! LOL
