Great Movie!

I first watched this movie on the Hallmark channel years ago and now I look forward to it every holiday season. It's a sweet movie, exactly the kind of movie you can expect from Dolly. She is always so very entertaining and just absolutely adorable to watch. Christmas around my house is not complete without this movie.

I agree, this WAS a sweet movie. We look for it every year around the holidays. I had the unique pleasure to be in the movie too. I needed a little break from my home state of Alaska so I drove down to LA, arriving about the time they were finishing the filming of this movie. I was offered 2 days of extra work on it and they decided to use my truck for the opening scene - brown pick up with a white shell, pulling into a parking spot in front of the bar. You can also see me at a tall table, in front of the stage where Dolly's singing in the bar - I have long blond hair, clapping in time to the beat. She was such a delight. So funny and happy. She giggled all the time. You wouldn't believe how long it took to film that first scene of her singing either...but she remained cheery and upbeat regardless. I stayed in LA for about 7 years, doing several TV shows, some music videos and a few movies and of all the people I met and or made friends with Dolly was by far one of the best memories. I know I'd love this movie still, even if I didn't have a (super small) part in it. Tops the holidays around our house. It's nice to know other's loved it too. :)

I just watched it on Youtube after it was advertised on ABC Family, and was surprised at how much I genuinely loved it. It was very funny at times, and the ending was super sweet. My only disappointment was that the family never found out that she was an angel-to-be, especially after the kids were so suspicious. This is one of the few Christmas movies I've seen where I really wish there'd been a sequel.

AnAmericanWoman-1,
Are you the blond in the black sleeveless top and the big smile? Is that a wedding band on your left hand? And another ring on your left middle finger. It looks like a watch or bracelet on your wrist. And maybe a gold chain around your neck?

Many years ago, I met Dolly at Dollywood. Ever been there? It is near her home in the Smokies. Have you seen Smokey Mountain Christmas. It is another sweet Christmas movie with Dolly.

I just watched Unlikely Angel on the Country channel and really enjoyed it too. I was just switching around the channels and caught it at the first part where Dolly was singing at the club. It held my interest and then I got to where I really got interested when Dolly got in the wreck after swerving to keep from hitting the little deer. A very good heartwarming Christmas movie, I must say.

It's goofy, unrealistic, clichéd and predictable...but we love it dearly and watch it each Christmas season. This, and Smokey Mtn Christmas (also a DP movie) are both favorites of ours.
