Vancouver Buses

If you're familiar with Vancouver transit buses, it's obvious that those are the buses going by in some of the street scenes. It's amusing to me that movies that are filmed in Canada can't just come right out and say that the story takes place in Vancouver or Toronto or wherever instead of pretending it's Seattle or Chicago or New York. Remember "The Silent Partner" with Elliott Gould? There were a number of references to the fact that they were in Toronto. With all the sports ties and cultural brotherhood between our two countries, can't we just call a spade a spade and say in the movie what city it really is?

I'm all for giving respect to Canada, but I think there were some points in the film that required the viewers to believe it was Seattle, Washington. For instance, when Liotta injects the first girl's serum (murdered at the drug store), he gains some artistic ability because she attended some Seattle Art University. Now, they could have said she went to some art school in Canada, but it might have been difficult for the writers to incorporate both the Canadian setting and the Seattle setting into the plot of the movie. Also, you can clearly see the Seattle skyline during parts of the movie.

They do give credit to Vancouver, Canada and Seattle, WA as film locations in the credits.
