I have this movie as well - but no subtitles whatsoever :(

French movie makers should finally wake up and smell the coffee, hello?!
No one speaks french anywhere unless its their mothetongue, and its damn 'anglaise' that is more or less understood everywhere in the world!

At a glance this film looks good, but what can i say about it without having english or my own language subtitles, so don't take my word for it if this movie sux... :(
Goddamn frogs >:/ Its not first disc I get from european sh*thole that has no other language than their own :(

From what I've heard, having no English subtitles is a function of the whole regional coding thing. French DVDs on average also tend to be better done than most others (except possibly Japanese). In order to keep people from buying better-looking French product, the French have been "persuaded" to leave subtitles off their DVDs.

So unless you can find a foreign (to France) distributor, which would likely have English subtitles, you're probably out of luck. This happened with IMMORTEL (it got both North American and Japanese distribution), but that's the only Bilal movie I've heard of that's made it outside of France.

At one time (a *long* time ago) I knew French... I'm thinking about trying to translate the movie. That's going to take a while. %^{

find some PAL subtitles on the internet (I assume it is a PAL R2 French DVD)
get MPC-HC and install it & play the DVD with MPC-HC
- load DVD into PC & ctrl-o to open file
-- navigate to VIDEO_TS.IFO file inside VIDEO_TS folder
--- insde MPC-HC while movie is playing, ctrl-l (load subs) and navigate to the srt/ass/ssa subs file.

enjoy DVD with subs. hopefully they are in sync, or you will have to find more in-depth guides (or other subs files)
