Considering how much people today are depedent on electricity, internet, instagram, facebook etc., the concept of a massive blackout would affect people more today than ever... It could even be a positive thing, not just a nightmare scenario as in the film. Would love to see a Twilight Zone-like film about that today...

I lived through the Northeast blackout of 2003 (3 Days) and the 2013 North American Ice Storm (4 days in winter). The only issues were gas and food (and heat during the ice storms). After the first 4 hours I don't recall anyone being too concerned about social media or the Internet.
