Anamorphic Version?

I have the 1999 “widescreen” release but I’m wondering if any subsequent releases are anamorphic. Anyone know?

As far as I can tell, there aren't any other widescreen versions on DVD at all. The 1999 DVD isn't even in print anymore (the only widely available version is full frame).

There is no anamorphic version available. You can either get it in 1.33:1 full frame "square shaped" (which I believe is the way it was shot) or a "widescreen" version which simply mattes black bars over the original 1.33:1 frame, replicating a non-anamorphic letterboxed 1.85:1 look -- but you actually see more information at the top and bottom of the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio. Just placing a matte over 1.33:1 is not true anamorphic widescreen anyway. It just ends up window-boxed on a widescreen TV unless you stretch the image and distort it. With this particular title, I'd opt for the full screen version in 1.33:1.
