A shame, I had a MUCH better scene idea:

God I wish I had written the dialog for just one of the scenes.

When Claire Dane's father asked her whether he told her he loved her too much or not enough she responded by saying "you say it just the right amount"

A WAY more clever and sweeter and artful scene would have been this:

When he asks: "Do I tell you I love you too much or not enough" the PERFECT cinematic response would have been for Claire to walk up to her father and wrap her arms around him giving him a very tender hug and while her face is pressed against his chest and she is embracing him she says in a very sweet affectionate voice, "What is important is that you are saying it right now". That would have been PERFECT.
