the dog..and maybe why they broke up afterwards..

He made a great statement there...after dragging an at-best unwilling at worst unhelpful even hindersome dog with them for miles in their condition, when she suggests killing the dog as their last hope of remaining food source, he tells her in effect that he loves the dog more than he hates watching her slowly starve to death in the wilderness.

I remember reading about this not long after it happened. I was disappointed in how they changed that aspect of the story, when in reality, they both agreed together that they would eventually have to kill and eat the dog. The day that they did it, Roger Stabbed Nuka with a knife, while Denise held her. Roger skinned the dog, and Denise cut the meat into strips. Tragically, all that happened on the same day that they were rescued. Something else that they changed was that Roger did shoot and wound the wolf, and not wanting to waste bullets, chased the injured wolf down and beat it to death with a rock. They ate the meat and used the skin for Denise's badly deteriorating feet. I understand why they would change that part.
