Predicts Iraq War

Yes, this film is boring, it is true. What is odd, though, is that although this film dates from 1996, it predicts that nuclear holocaust occurs because a corrupt U.S. president illegally invades Iraq. I nearly fell off the couch when I saw this.

Oddly enough I wrote an outline for a fiction World war Three in 1999/2000. The premise was we invaded Iraq with nukes causing a rise in Islamic fundametalism and terrorism, rise of a world fascist state and cumulating in a nuclear holocaust destroying the environment. Creepy to look back on now. Partly the basis for a current novel though.

I hate to pop your balloon but there already was a rise in Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism years before W invaded Iraq.

It actually goes back to the founding of Islam. Which was a counter to Jews and Christians in the Middle East. But the modern mess we've seen today is more a continuation of the crusades.
