Sensei is Mexican?
This movie is awesome. Everytime I catch it on television, it's on the part where a guy gets thrown through a shop window and the kid and his Mexican sensei beat up a dozen or so thugs. Things I enjoy about this movie include:
- When there's 10 thugs vs. 2 good guys, the 8 not fighting will stand around and shift their weight, anticipating their next lethal attack.
- The angle of the camera that shows just how far off every swing is.
- When the camera jolts first person from the thugs viewpoint as the hero launches a kick or punch at him.
- That the three heroes drive for hours to reach the club to be joined by the eight year olds two minutes later.
- Did the eight year olds drive carpool? Are there parents waiting outside?
- The sensei IS MEXICAN.
- The acting, story, plot, dialogue and fight choreography.
- That despite being made released in 1996, everyone in the movie dresses like it's 1982. It's like they spent half their budget on a Salvation Army shopping spree.
- That the packed dance club empties and turns into a dive bar instantly.
- That the bad guys enter the EXIT with a gagged girl. Not only are they kidnappers but they're some serious bad dudes.
- No one uses or wields a gun and that the apprehended girl makes no attempt to escape.
- The after school tae kwon doe class overpowers an entourage of hardened career criminals. By force. And KARATE`.
The thing I enjoy most about this movie, however, is that once I stumble upon it on MoviePlex, I can never turn it off.
I love you, Tiger Heart. Be mine.
