Lynne Whitfield is excellent!
She plays the psycho so well! I felt she really was this character, i could feel her mental disturbance...

shareyeah i agree. she started to scare me. expecially when she hit her self in the face i was like ohhhh what a nut. movies i saw her in after took me a while to forget this character she nailed it.
shareI agree. She was good in this movie and was really the only one giving it some weight. Not to mention, DAMN she looked good in that black dress.

I was surprised at how wonderful Lynn Whitfield was in this film as well. I had always thought of her primarily as a dramatic actress (THE JOSEPHINE BAKER STORY) but she really seemed to capture the tongue in cheek aspect of her character and this film in a very effective manner. Great work.
shareLynne Whitfield IS excellent. Especially in the scenes when she's alone in her house (e.g closet/arm scene...ew). All in all, a good film, if a little slow at times..but nothing's perfect, right?

She played her character very well. She was very scary at moments in the movie. One moment where her eyes really cut at me was when Martin shoved her against the wall in his kitchen when she was cooking him breakfast. She was probably the most convincing character in the movie. She was also very beautiful and sexy as well.
shareLynn Whitfield was THE ONLY GOOD thing in this movie. Everyone and everything else was a total mess. Martin's clown face and filthy mouth ruined it. Lynn is a great actress even in bad movies like this.
shareI agree Lynn Whitfield was the best actress this movie had. She is the only reason I've given this movie a higher rating than it should. She was great.

This movie was beneath her caliber-wise. She plays the 'psycho' well. I don't think the bourgeoisie black princess was a stretch for her; she is often cast in that type of role (Eve's Bayou, The Wedding, Madea's Family Reunion etc.).
