Worst moments of Jimmy

1) In the airplane, when Guy tells him that Faye is sick. Jimmy just ignores it and keeps talking to Mr White.

2) "I should have dumped you in Pittsburgh"

3) Flirting with Diane Dane while still dating Faye.

Did I miss anything?

P.S. In extended version, there is actually a moment when Jimmy shows his good side - helping to lead Faye out of the Villipiano's during the riot.
I think it's a good thing they removed this scene from theatrical version, since it goes against his character.

reply

Kind of. The flip side is that Faye was actually having a good time during the riot at Villipiano's. Both she and Guy were pretty amused. Jimmy and Tina were appalled, which says something, I think.

reply

White: "Who is Faye?"

Jimmy: "Faye is... uh... *sorta* my girlfriend."

White: "Oh that is touching. If you want her on tour, she's your new costume mistress."

Also, Jimmy didn't make sure Faye got to the police car in Wisconsin. It was Guy that saw Faye get held back by a cop, so Guy brought her back to the car.

In a similar vein, Guy and Tina never had a real conversation in the movie, either. Guy never responded to any thing or concern she mentioned.

Tina: "Guy, I thought we were going to a movie and dinner at the club?"
Guy: "Oh, we are going to cream these ladies."

Tina: "That Jimmy sure has a gal pal in Faye. They make a cute couple, huh?"
Guy: "First band I was ever in was my uncle's, and we broke up after one week. And this one get's a paying gig!"

Tina: "Is it always this smokey?"
Guy: can't remember... I think Villapiano tells "Ringo" to get back on stage.

Yes, and I'm glad they showed them that way because it just shows that she wasn't too meaningful to Guy. That way you know Guy wasn't really heartbroken over the fact that she fell in love with her dentist.

Jimmy was a jerk for sure, but I thought it was obvious that Faye thought their relationship was more serious than it actually was. She was kind of dumb. And for Jimmy, his music/career came first.

Actually, I read that scene differently. He appeared to be frantic to save the records, and just wanted her help! She was caught up in the excitement of the riot, and hearing the band play their riot music!

reply

Exactly what I thought too. He knew he was her bf and that she did anything for him, so if he said "come on Faye let's go!" He could use her help to save his records as well as carry out his "golden" guitar so he doesn't leave anything behind after one trip from the bar to their ride. It was still selfish on Jimmy's part as usual. Prick.

How about when he gets mad about the thing that flashed on screen about him being engaged? Another is when he is in the recording studio and telling Mr. White they only do his songs. Hey, Mr. White is the boss, not him.

reply

It's not the worst thing he did, but when they're thinking of signing with Phil Jimmy says "I don't know - I don't like signing anything to do with my music." (or something of that nature).

It's actually quite a prick thing for him to say. First, he's saying "my music" - as if the rest of the band had nothing to do with it. Second, he's not even considering what the other three members want, and what a great opportunity it would be for them.

what a douche

reply

Didn't he write the song? So to him it was his music.

reply

Lenny helped right it too.

reply

You know he's going to be a douche when he corrects Lenny in the hardware store that they're not puppets, "they're marionettes, that's what they are."

very condescending.

Hey Whitey! Where's your hat?

reply

Except at the extended scene in Villipian's he's yelling at her.
