Chema : The MasterMind??

Guys,i really don't get it (cause, perhaps, spanish isn't my language) some parts in this movie.

Was Chema a real mastermind of bosco's savage brutal act? Cause,i guess he was the one who created "snuff movie" (which it meaned:taped all the sequences of torture and killing in real)and shared the idea with Bosco while they still became best friend in film's workshop (according to Yolanda's,bosco's girlfriend, story). What do you think? or am i incorrect caught the point?

Anyway, the whole movie was splendid and outstanding! this was one of the greatest movie ever made and The most thrilling suspense of all time.Even i was kind of a litle bit dissapointed with the "predictable" ending.i guessed,it would like "The Others" (str.Nicole kidman)with the brilliant twist ending. I would like to find other european suspense movie more and more...

Anyone can give an advice for "reccomended movie",similiar with this one??

Thanks.And Alejandro Amenabar is ROCK!

No, I don't think so at all. Why do you think Chema had anything to do with the snuff movies? Perhaps you missed the part in the end where he said he had took the camera? Also, I never doubted that Chema was innocent. This movie had real characters, and therefore Chema could not be a killer. He is straigthforward, showes real emotions and compassion, and is therefore not a psycopath.

This movie ends with the triumph of love over violence.

That is why you see the couple (Angela and Chema) walking past all the people watching the TV stupefied as they see images of what these two have lived and survived and are now leaving behind.

That's why Chema runs after Angela—he doesn't want to be left behind with the ones who are not really living, just watching life through the television.

Chema is of course very morbid and that's a little creepy, but the ending shows that he was a "good guy" all along, and Angela is willing to forgive him for stalking her a little.

After all, it makes him a great match for her, since she has a morbid and voyeuristic streak too—what got her into all this trouble in the first place.

It is a masterful conclusion, going way beyond affirming the movie's themes.
You can really say that it makes love conquer all else, and not in a gooey, sentimental or clichéd way at all.

other movies like this one? try anything by michael haneke, an austrian filmmaker whose films (in general) are centered around the theme of violence and how we, as a society, accept its depiction in the media, much like tesis. try cache or funny games, the latter of which was made in france a decade ago, but also recently remade by haneke in english, starring naomi watts, tim roth and michael pitt.
