Snuff Films

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I have seen 8MM. Does an underground market for snuff films really exist?

reply

The "snuff movie" featured in the Stile archives is a fake, and a laughably bad one at that.

As far as I know real stuff films do exist. I've read that they are being sold on the black market for a whole lot of money. One movie can be worth more than 1 million $.
I read that many snuff films are being made in Southamerica and then smuggled over the border to USA and sold there. Authorities will never know of it.

Many topics on the "8MM" message board denies the existence of real snuff films, but I can't understand why people want to believe that we live in a nice and peaceful world where everyone loves eachother. There are many perverts out there.

But I think it's hard to define what real snuff is. It's the easiest thing to find movies where people are tortured and murdered, are they real? Some of them are, is it snuff? That's hard to say.

In my eyes snuff films is where innocent girls are being raped, tortured and then murdered, and that do exist, to my believe.

A lot of words to a simple question :)

Sadly, I'll have to second that. I have always been more than skeptical towards this subject, because honestly, it is quite outrageous. Most, if not all, newswebsites, Urban Legend websites and whatever, say that snuff is just a myth. However, earlier this year, here in Holland (where else x_x) a man and some fellow accomplices were arrested when a woman had seen to escape from a building they rented in some farmer town and went to the the police. She had been tortured and raped by both men and dogs. The women was a, whaddayacall it, a refugee, residing in Belgium, and the men had kidnapped here. Once they were arrested, their houses were searched, logically, and apparently snuff movies (well, movies, at least one) were found as well. The movie in question apparently features a woman being raped and tortured, whereafter her limbs are cut off; a decapitation follows. All these movies were made for commercial (read: selling them to sick f**ks) purposes.

Indeed, it's a sick world. These people are just disturbed, if not more. If there's Guinea Pig, Red Room, and August Underground, who needs snuff?

Interesting. Do you happen to have any news articles on this story? Not that I doubt you, but I'd like to read about it for myself.

Hi CowMaN

It was published in a Danish magazine. But of course that isn't evidence. It's only based on rumors. But I will try to find it and translate the text.
I haven't any answers to why authorities haven't discovered any real snuff film, but it could be because it happens in the deepest 'underground' and in a really closed community.
The films are smuggled across the borders and if I was a cop and I stopped a car and discovered a videotape I don't think my first thought would be "Gees...What disguting content does this tape have?". That could be one reason. I would have to be suspecious that this person is in this community.

To believe that snuff-films doesn't exist is just nonsense imho. As I posted earlier, the world is not just a place with sweet candy, lemonade and nice people.

There is the theory that a lot of governmental higher-ups are the market for snuff.

reply

It’s not snuff in the sense of an underground market for this kind of rape/torture/death stuff people are referring to but there are definitely videos out there of Islamic Fundamentalists beheading people. David Cronenberg (I think) spoke of watching one as preparation for one of his movies and I am pretty sure the media carried references to the videos shot of Daniel Pearl and Ken Bigley being killed by Jihadists.

If you want to look for it, there’s supposedly a load of stuff on some Russian based websites with camcorder atrocities from Chechnya. Quite why you’d like to see it is a something you’d need to debate with yourself.

reply

The snuff-film myth has been perpetrated since the 70's, and yet no one has come up with the real deal yet. As you said, it's shockingly easy to get your hands on footage of accidents, suicides, murders, and executions; but an actual snuff film--a videotaped murder produced solely for entertainment and distribution among a few sickos--has yet to surface.

I'm a collector of disturbing media and have searched high and low for such material and dealt with many shady people in many seedy places, but I've never been able to get my hands on such material and thus I doubt it exists--or at least not to the extent that many people seem to think it does. If it DOES exist, it's certainly well below the radar of everyone--even potential buyers.

Sorry it's taken so long, anyway, I'll try and dig up a few articles. In the meantime, here's a bunch of links I came across when reading up on Nine Inch Nails' 'Broken' video.

British link to 'snuff' videos:
http://www.guardian .co.uk/Archive/Artic le/0,4273,4070446,00 .html

Italy charges 1,500 people in child porn inquiry:
http://edition.cnn. com/2000/WORLD/europ e/italy/10/28/rome.p orn/index.html

From what it seems like, actual snuff has been found. Buh.

that's so disturbing. i feel so sick.

"Happieness, something in my own place. I'm stood here naked and smiling I feel no disgrace"

reply

so you're saying you believe everything you read but can't understand why people would like the world to be less nasty?

reply

The most gruesome, police said, was coded "Necros Pedo," in which children were raped and tortured to death.

The Italian investigators say the material includes footage of children dying during abuse.

We have seen some very, very nasty stuff involving sadistic abuse of very young children, but actual deaths on film takes it a whole step further. That is very worrying,' said one senior customs officer this weekend.

I think these two news articles pretty much proove snuff films are real. I guess Snopes needs to update the snuff page.

This is my signature.

I don't know if non-UK posters know about the current craze called 'happy slapping'. It's been getting a lot of media attention over here. When it first hit the media a few months ago it was people (apparently mostly teenagers) using their mobile phones to film their friends attacking random people, hitting them over the head etc. TV shows like Jackass and Dirty Sanchez were blamed. Since then there have been reports of rapes and severe beatings being filmed. I don't know if there has been a 'happy slapping' video where someone has died, but surely it can only be a matter of time. For more information try http://www.bbc.co.uk/news and do a search on 'happy slapping'.

The guy who gave him mouth to mouth also should have given him heart massage (or what it's called), because he was unconsious that long. And you can't fake that, at least it won't look real - so he didn't give him that. Everything in the movie is able to fake. Some people have trained to be underwater a long time and i think the record is about 12 minutes. So i definitly think it's fake. But of course, on the other hand you never know what people are willing to do nowadays.

reply

Ah, that video. Supposedly real, actually, but disturbing enough even if it's fake. Still though, not snuff.

reply

Imbeciles that believe "snuff" exists should immediately kill themselves. And film it.

Oh, not that a bunch of dopes that write "proove", "to my believe", or think Guardian's compromised bullsh!t about a "Russian snuff operation in London" is real (bwahaha) will comprehend anything of what I say now, but the closest thing there's ever been to snuff were Traktorist's videos sold in Remnya. Easy to find in the usual places, still very common in Chechnya, still as boring as taking a *beep* with nothing to read. Fragments are online on Ogrish and other places. The old stuff with the Spet. soldier getting his throat cut, the civilian getting the axe, that's all from Traktorist's tapes. The full ones have rape in them too, so that's ALMOST snuff. Almost, not quite, and the real thing never existed and never will (if you think any sort of even a plan for a "snuff market" has a realistic chance of existence for longer than a month, you're too *beep* stupid to live, so, again, all snuff-believing morons, go and off yourselves NOW)

I don't know how much of a "market" there is, since I have no idea how you'd even go about obtaining one, but they do for a fact exist. The vast, vast, VAST majority are frauds, but a handful are generally accepted to be genuine, or at the very least, possibly genuine.

reply

I don't know if there is an underground market of snuff films. But does a genuine film of a person being murdered? I wouldn't doubt it, humans are definitely capable of murdering someone on film for pleasure. And people are just as capable of wanting to watch such a movie. So yes, somewhere in the world there is probably a real snuff film.

I don't know if it ever existed like this movies lets on (an underground video market) but these days you can find many brutal murder videos online. So it's not underground anymore that's for sure, if it existed like that back pre-internet then it's a bygone era.

There are definitely people out there who have a morbid curiosity and enjoyment from watching real murder videos. As can be seen in gore communities online, I imagine people like this have always been around.
