In the OVAs of Tenchi Muyo, they say Kiyone(not the detective) is Tenchi's mother, but in the movie Achika is Tenchi's mother. Who's Tenchi's mother?! Someone explain to me! I'm really confuse!

Two different writers and one of the reasons why we have two different series. The main writer of the OVA had already pictured what Tenchi's mother would be like and her story which of yet hasn't been completely revealed yet would be. The main writer of Tenchi Universe at the time came up with Kiyone the detective, the main writer liked the name Kiyone but didn't want the character instead later on settling with the ("CLONE OF KIYONE") who we know as Noike. Believing that having two unrelated characters in two different time frames would be confusing to the viewers. So with that and other differences the writer of Tenchi Univerese, well wrote Tenchi Universe and eventually Tenchi Muyo In Love, which is cannon to Tenchi Universe but not the OVA. Which is why in both that series and in the movie we have Kiyone the cop, and Achika as Tenchi's mom, while in the OVA we have the wierder practical joker of a Mom Kiyone.

shareWhat I noticed online was when they mentioned Kiyone was the name of Tenchi's mom, people immediatly associated her as being Kiyone of the Universe series. They would say stuff like, oh my god Kiyone is Tenchi's mom??? I guess some people just jump to conclusions before doing their homework.
shareThats probably because Tenchi jumps around a lot with each of it's series and changes a lot of things.
