The police/detective searched the house for the gun.
They found a safe inside and were carrying it out the front door.
The detective tried to kick aside a planter that was right outside the front door and it wouldn't budge. He bent down to move it and realized that the planter had cement poured inside below the flowers.
They bashed it open and walla ........ the gun.
Do a search on the real person, Susan Grund. She is in prison now and for awhile as far as I know. I think she got 60 years.

THANKS, BUT, I saw all that. What happened after they she changed her story in the office with the prosecutor, her lawyer, and the detectives. The detective had just told her they found the gun, then she changed her story to "I hid the gun to protect my stepson. Then they hauled her back into lockup. What happened after that?.....I will look up the real person, but sometimes movies are different from what actually happens.
I just saw the movie today and you didn't miss much else. They dragged her butt back to jail, on the way she saw her stepson with his girlfriend. She asked the police if the stepson would be arrested too and the angry cop just lost it. He screamed that she ruined his best friend's life (by killing him) and he wouldn't let her ruin the son's life too. Another cop then told the angry cop that he finally got what he wanted - the arrest of the wife. The angry cop was like 'at what cost?' Since he lost his best friend and he was the one who set them up in the first place. They had credits at the end that said she went to prison, she was sentenced to like 60 years. Hope this helps!
shareThank you. I got to see everything up to the point where he turns and walks back up the steps. I was waiting for some sort of blurb, but my DVR cut out. I'm getting really sick of shows and movies running past the scheduled runtime, and when I try and accommodate for it by recording an extra minute, if I happen to need to record back to back, and have three shows and not just two, I have to make a choice either to cut the end of one show if they're all back to back, or keep recording for the extra minute and not record the third show. It gets extremely frustrating.
