People still meet in bars and call them later on their phones. Really not much difference besides some facebook friend add.

go to bed grandpa

reply

No, because nowadays people stay playing on their phones while at bars and clubs. Ruins the experience tbh.

Obviously, you’ve never heard of cocktail napkins and lipstick, amateur.

reply

A napkin or gum wrapper would do in a pinch ;)

I have a cousin and a nephew who both met their wives on Match.com. It was so much easier than going to bars or dances. Now, they are happily married with young children.

reply

Saddest thing I ever heard.

Please report back in a few years how things are going.

Who goes to "dances"?

What year is this.

reply

Millions go to "dances". Try going outside.

reply

Yup. My college years: bar hopping looking for some poon. No cell phones or internet, just alcohol and luck.

reply

It was awesome.

Kids today don't know how to interact with actual real live humans without a phone in their hand. And they don't go to clubs anymore. Clubs are closing down all over the palce since nobody goes anymore. Kinda sad.

If this movie were made today, they'd probably have Mike TEXT Nickie constantly, instead of leaving messages. Wouldn't have the same impact.

Back "in the day", the phone was the only way to reach back out to a girl. So, you really did have to question yourself, "when should I call? How soon is too soon?". These days, with the internet, it's so easy to reach someone, that those questions probably no longer even apply.

Back in what fucking day? Wednesday. The phrase is “back in the OLD days.” It’s unfortunately gotten the ghetto treatment, just like “the proof is in the puffin’,” which was formerly “the proof [test, evidence] of the puddinG is in the eating.”

Geez, in 20 years, when somebody sneezes, polite people will just say “Bless.”

To the title: Right?
