Billy's Intentions? ANSWER please!

First off, I love this movie and just finished watching it for the millionth time. But I have a question...does anyone think Billy really felt anything for Jade? Or was he just horny? And I don't think we can honestly assume it was because he was drunk that he slept with Jade, because he would have to have been PLASTERED and he didn't seem like he was at all. And I know from experience that even when you're totally drunk off Bacardi 151 and horny, you are still capable of making good decisions. I mean, he would have had to know how horrible it was, and how illegal, and how immoral it would have been, and if he loved Jess so much, why risk it?

And I totally would have boned Billy if I was Jade...because I can imagine he's awesome in the sack.

I really like this movie and wish I could get a copy so I could watch it a million times too! This movie completely confused me as far as why each character was motivated to what they did. I think Billy did really care for Jade and was attracted to her in the carnal sense so the risk was worth it to him???

I'm totally with ya on that last statement!

To get the movie, I just waited for what seemed like forever until it was on Lifetime and I recorded it onto a video tape. But it's totally worth it!! I wish they had it on DVD, but alas, they don't and probably never will.

And I was wondering...if they had shown the sex scene, do you think that would have given more evidence as to what Billy's true intentions were? Right before they did it, he told her not to speak or move. Just wondering!

Yes, if we'd seen more we probably would understand better. Now that you mention him saying don't speak or move leads me to think it could be him not wanting to stop and, if she had spoken etc, his brain would have kicked in and maybe stopped him.

Well-said, mbg411. I agree.

I think he did care for Jade, and her mom....but he was also an opportunist. He was semi-drunk, and was also quite immature. He saw an opportunity to have sex with Jade, who he'd been attracted to for some time (i.e. the kiss on the lawn) and he took it.
And he continued to play the 'immature one' the next morning by refusing to own up to his actions.
Jade was responsible too, but he was the adult. He should have known better even more than Jade; he was only thinking with his glands that night.

Billy wasn't a bad guy at all, he just made a terrible mistake.
