Why can't they show good stuff like "Susie Q" anymore? Disney is trash now, spitting out crappy stuff like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers and The Sucky Life of Fat & Whiny. These shows have horrible writing and acting! Why not show good quality things like Susie Q? I used to love that movie!

shareI know right. Disney's not Disney anymore. I refer to them as the Dingo Channel now (iCarly reference) cuz now their jokes are so stupid and they make the adults look like buffoons. They play old DCOMs in the wee hours of the morning when most of their young viewers are asleep. WTF? That's just messed up. 2006 was the death of Disney Channel. I can write a whole novel on why the Dingo Channel's new material is practically poisoning their audience and it still wouldn't be enough to express how fed up us vintage fans are.

Susie Q was originally owned by 20th Century Fox, meaning it was syndicated by Zoog Disney. Syndication agreements only last for so long and there are so many other factors that go along with syndication (i.e. royalty payments, editting/formatting) that syndication of older movies, especially made-for-tv movies, is more trouble than what it's worth. So Disney changes with the times and puts out crap that makes Walt Disney do somersaults in his grave.
If you don't believe me about Susie Q being owned by 20th Century Fox, take a good look at the beginning previews of an Anastasia (the animated film, also owned by 20thCF) VHS tape. There are clips of the movie mixed in with 20thCF's other direct-to-tv movies...

I remember watching this movie back then on the Disney channel. The Disney channel of the 90s was the BEST time. I remember those sunday afternoons i would watch the torkelsons, flash forward, and babysitters club.
