English or Cantonese?

hmm, not to active this particular board, but here goes anyway...

i'm wondering if Mr Nice Guy is supposed to be in english or cantonese? i have the impression it is supposed to be english - which is rare for a jackie chan film in the 90s.

i have it in widescreen with english audio but my copy has both english and cantonese subtitles permanently on the screen whether i want them or not!

this means i have to buy the dam thing again but before i do i want to make sure i have the proper audio.

so yeah, is it supposed to be english?

(you'd think imdb would have a section that clarifies that, but they don't.)

edit: yes definitely English, only the scenes with his girlfriend are Cantonese. by the way anyone has subs to these?

Actually, Jackie and his girlfriend were communicating in Mandarin. The dialogue between Jackie and the ice-cream man was in Cantonese.

I was expecting it to be dubbed, but when I look at the guy with the moustache talk, it looks exactly like it would if he was actually talking in my opinion, so I agree, it doesn't look dubbed.
